Wedding at Desa Kartika

Hi! Let me post about my cousin's wedding reception last Saturday.

This wedding reception was kind of a top secret which none of the relatives knew of until the first day of Eid. Somehow for some reason, we were all kept in the dark and the only thing that was made known was the date.

SAVE THE DATE: 01 AUG 2015

When my aunt finally informed my family about the location of the reception, we were like "Why do you have to keep it from us?" She immediately changed the topic and was happily chatting away about non-wedding stuffs.

VENUE: DESA KARTIKA

Since it's a well kept secret and a little pricey for 300pax, we figured it will be a top notch kind of place, along with finger licking dishes and a breath-taking dais & decoration. What we saw and experience didn't really match up with the figures. Okay so maybe I was being bias but if more than 3 other person shared the same sentiments as me, then it's not only me.

To each his own, alright?
I will not write any further on our comments. The only reason why we're so worked up over it is cause they were so secretive about it! I mean, if you're gonna want to do it all by yourself, don't end up asking for help on the day or night before... Why must you always ask for help at the last minute. Look. We CAN help. We WANTED to help. Just be frank about it. We're not gonna condemn you about where you choose your venue. Afterall, it is YOUR money you're forking out.

Apart from the hu-ha, I finally get to see my two dear cousins (the two in the middle in the picture above). It's super hard to meet them although we all live in Singapore! It was definitely a nice catch-up session. They're still as bubbly as ever and we kept on laughing at their antics. God, why can't we have this kind of thing ever other week or month or something. I was referring to the meet-up, not the wedding.

EXTENDED FAMILIA. <3

There was SUPPOSED to be a video in which we shouted "Selamat Pengatin Baru" and we had to retake that thrice - only to find that THIS PERSON actually pressed record and paused when we were shouting and record again when she's passing me back the phone. WTFWTFWTF.

My cousin sister was about to fcuk her on that cause it seems like she was doing a good job and laughing all, but it was such a crappy service.

Just for you to know. The time slot for a function there is four hours. They were given a choice of either 12noon to 4pm or 5pm to 9pm. Initially we thought it's too short of a slot plus my cousin's friends all end work around 3plus. True that the venue only got packed after 3pm but to the rest of us families who decided to stay on for the whole four hours, it was a pain. Maybe because it was too messy and everyone was moving around at the same time. I can't see the bride and groom for half the time cause nobody told them what to do so they ended up roaming about as well.

Lesson learnt though,

Despite everything, it was definitely nice to see most of our relatives, especially those whom we've not seen in a long time. Up next? I have no idea. Bob said he's planning to get married in 4yrs. Me? In Shaa Allah. Although if it's my wedding it's gonna be on a smaller scale.

For now, just go with the flow and let fate decide when and how.
